Hi! It depends on whether you plan on publishing or not and what method of publishing you choose!
If you just want to print out a proof copy and don't plan to publish (you just want to hold your book), you can do that via Amazon KDP. I recommend typsetting your book (uploading it) into Reedsy's free tool (super user friendly) if you go this route. If you plan on actually self-publishing, then you can do that via Amazon KDP as well. You can actually write the content (when you're drafting it) in several locations. Google Docs is my preferred first draft place, and some people like Word. I tend to do 2nd+ drafts on Scrivener, which isn't as user friendly but has a lot of tools to help an author (it is a one-time fee of $50 to download it on your computer but completely worth it!), but you can do the rest of your drafts wherever!
If you want to traditionally publish, it's doubtful you'll be permitted to use your own illustrations, but if you're self publishing, then you have every freedom!

Hope this helps! Happy writing!
